ASUS ExpertBook Ultra: A Flagship Business Laptop Finally Makes Its Way to Davao

If you’ve been following my tech and event posts, you probably know that I recently got to check out the ASUS ExpertBook Ultra during its Grand Launch here in Davao City.

And honestly, this isn’t the usual business laptop that you simply look at, check the specs, and move on from.

ASUS is positioning the ExpertBook Ultra as its flagship business laptop—and after seeing it up close, I can understand why.

The Davao leg of the launch was held at Dusit D2 on September 11, bringing together more than 500 business leaders, IT professionals, partners, clients, and media guests. It was also the regional close of ASUS Business Philippines’ Cebu and Davao launch tour, which drew more than 1,000 attendees combined.

A Business Laptop That Doesn’t Feel Bulky

One of the first things you notice about the ExpertBook Ultra is how thin and light it is.

It starts at just 0.99 kg and measures only 10.9 mm thin.

For a business laptop, that’s pretty impressive.

If you’re someone who is constantly moving between meetings, offices, airports, cafés, or even different cities, having a powerful laptop that doesn’t feel like a burden inside your bag makes a lot of sense.

But ASUS didn’t simply focus on making it thin.

Under the hood, the ExpertBook Ultra can come with up to an Intel Core Ultra X9 Series 3 processor, with a dedicated NPU delivering up to 50 TOPS and up to 180 total platform TOPS.

In simpler terms: ASUS built this with AI-powered work in mind.

And Yes, I Got to See the Durability Features Up Close

During the Davao launch, one of the highlights for me was seeing the durability demonstrations.

ASUS designed the ExpertBook Ultra with Military-Grade durability, while still keeping the laptop extremely portable. It also comes with up to 26 hours of battery life, which is definitely something worth noting for people who spend a lot of time working away from a desk.

And if you're the type who brings your laptop everywhere, durability isn't just a nice extra feature. It's something you actually appreciate.

Because let's be honest—when you're constantly carrying a laptop around, bumps, movement, and the occasional stressful moment are bound to happen. 😅

The Display Looks Just as Premium

The ExpertBook Ultra comes with a 14-inch WQXGA+ 2880 × 1800 16:10 display, with an anti-glare touchscreen and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus and Gorilla Matte.

Depending on the configuration, it can come with a Tandem OLED display with up to 1,400 nits HDR peak brightness.

For me, this is where the laptop feels like it goes beyond being purely functional.

You’re getting something designed for serious business use, but the display and overall form factor still give it that premium feel.

Built for the Modern Workplace

Another thing that stood out is how much ASUS focused on security.

The ExpertBook Ultra includes features such as ASUS ExpertGuardian, NIST SP 800-193 compliance, a security processor, self-healing BIOS, TPM 2.0, Microsoft Pluton, fingerprint recognition, Windows Hello IR, a physical webcam shield, and chassis intrusion alerts.

For businesses handling sensitive files, client information, and other important data, these aren't features you'd want to overlook.

And because it's a Copilot+ PC, ASUS also includes built-in AI features such as ASUS MyExpert.

So this isn't just about having a fast laptop. It's about having a device that fits the way people are working today.

What About the Price?

Here's something that caught my attention—in a good way.

Despite the price increases happening across the PC market, ASUS is keeping the introductory price of the ExpertBook Ultra at ₱129,995.

And there's currently a limited-time offer.

Until October 18, 2026, customers purchasing the ASUS ExpertBook Ultra through the official ASUS ExpertBook Stores on Shopee and Lazada can get up to ₱6,000 in savings plus a FREE ASUS 100W GaN Charger.

For a premium business laptop with this kind of hardware and portability, that's definitely something worth checking out if you're currently planning a laptop upgrade.

From Manila to Cebu, and Now Davao

What I also appreciate about this launch is that ASUS Business Philippines is bringing its business technology closer to regional markets.

After its Manila debut in July, the ExpertBook Ultra made its way to Cebu on September 7 and 8 before heading to Davao on September 11.

As someone from Davao, it's always nice to see major technology brands bringing their latest products here instead of making everyone travel to Manila just to experience them.

And with Davao continuing to grow as a major business hub in Mindanao, it makes sense to bring enterprise-grade technology closer to the people and businesses here.

My Take

The ASUS ExpertBook Ultra feels like ASUS trying to answer a very simple question:

Can a business laptop be powerful, secure, durable, and extremely portable at the same time?

Based on what I saw at the Davao launch, that's exactly what ASUS is going for.

At 0.99 kg, up to 26 hours of battery life, AI-focused performance, business-grade security, and a premium display, the ExpertBook Ultra packs quite a lot into a very slim package.

For executives, entrepreneurs, professionals, and anyone who needs a reliable laptop that can keep up with a busy workday, this is definitely a device worth putting on your radar.

And of course, getting to experience it here in Davao made the launch even more special.
